With no strand left out of place, Estilo Salon in Eau Claire’s Water Street Historic District, extends a can-do spirit to the City’s Façade Loan Program. Owners, Marie Rasmussen and Jeff Frawley, spent some time with us this spring welcoming us into their renovated, restored and refreshed salon space. What we learned: Dreams do come true.
The City of Eau Claire’s Façade Loan Program and those that apply for it work in close collaboration. The process, though quite intensive and thorough, ought not to be an intimidation to those businesses seeking supplemental support for bringing their visionary projects to reality. Marie and Jeff share how the loan necessitates an in-depth process as a critical exercise for business owners and operators to further explore and act upon transforming a space for emboldening their dreams. The steps take time and effort and the straightforwardness of the loan application process helps move applicants closer toward goals.

With a staff that has doubled since the expansion, there is more accessibility and availability for clients to be seen and cared for at Estilo. Marie and Jeff invest in not only their space but in the staff that occupies that space. Expanding their square footage, a direct impact of the façade loan, added multiple dimensions to their long-term footprint on Water Street.
So, what’s next for the space and success of Estilo? When asked about future goals, Marie and Jeff excitedly shared their vision for an event space within the salon’s back patio. Their creativity will expand into an outdoor space for bridal and baby showers, birthday celebrations and more. The idea: come for a self-care session and let Estilo pamper you further with a place for your group to treat and toast! The need: to spruce up the existing patio and garden transforming the space into the next shining spot off Water Street. Other visions for the future include developing a men’s-only salon, maybe even within the boundaries of Estilo, but as always with Marie and Jeff, it’ll be creative, curated and cool.
Be inspired by the can-do spirit of the Estilo team and bring your business visions to fruition with the City of Eau Claire’s Commercial Building Façade Loan Program. Let us know when you want to collaborate!
