The City of Eau Claire, Wisconsin offers several assistance programs for businesses that can complement or fill the gap in programs that are available through financial institutions to help get them off the ground, expand operations, create new job opportunities, and improve commercial spaces. This financial arrangement for business owners and developers facilitates the renovation of building exteriors. Funds may be used to cover expenses related to façade repairs, architectural upgrades, signage installations, and other improvements that contribute to the overall revitalization and marketability of the space.
Eligible Recipients: All property owners, businesses, and tenants located in the city in areas zoned commercial or the central business district (downtown) as defined by the Eau Claire City Council’s district map.
Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate an ability to cash flow the projected debt service and to operate a business successfully.
This financial arrangement supports the economic growth of smaller businesses. Funds may be used for permanent working capital, inventory purchases and supplies, acquisition of equipment, machinery, furniture and fixtures, leasehold improvements, building renovation and rehabilitation, and real estate acquisition.
Eligible Recipients: Any manufacturing, commercial, or service business, excluding restaurants, located in the city.
Requirements: Applicants must have been in business for 3 years or less and demonstrate an ability to repay the loan.

Eligible Recipients: Any manufacturing, commercial, or service business, excluding restaurants, located in the city.
Requirements: Applicants must have been in business for 3 years or less and demonstrate an ability to repay the loan.
This financial arrangement promotes the creation and retention of jobs. Funds are distributed per job up to a maximum of $100,000 and may be used for permanent working capital, inventory purchases and supplies, acquisition of equipment, machinery, furniture and fixtures, leasehold improvements, building renovation and rehabilitation, and real estate acquisition.
Eligible Recipients: Any manufacturing, commercial, service business, or creative economy business, excluding restaurants, located in the city, as well as businesses targeted by the city.
Requirements: Applicants must have been in business for 3 years or less and demonstrate an ability to repay the loan.
